This book is dedicated to the memory of the first men in Kendal with cameras. It is only because of the early efforts of these enthusiastic amateur photographers that we can visualise the town as it was in the Victorian times today. This book is an attempt to preserve a representative collection of the old, now vanished scenes, through the conversion of selected photographs into a uniform series of pen drawings. There are 130 drawings supplemented by maps of the period and a descriptive and historical narrative.
Hardback with dust jacket showing some signs of age – otherwise the book is in good condition in view of age (1977) – this book is a first edition
