This is a fairly realistic look at what can go on in a presidential nominating convention, and makes for a pretty good story to boot. In this story, the leading Republican candidate for his party’s nomination makes some off-the-cuff remarks expressing scepticism concerning a major weapons system. The remarks seem innocuous at first, but as so often happens the issue mushrooms in the Media echo chamber, and industry and labour lobbying groups rally against the candidate. A powerful underdog rival sees new life breathed into his campaign, and the fight is on.
