On Monday 5th December we will be conducting an accessibility study of shops in St Austell. We will be focusing on getting into shops in a wheelchair.
The Shopmobility scheme rents out equipment to assist disabled users when shopping in town. Part of our study will map shops that you can use on a wheelchair. We will also be making shops aware of the issue of shopping in a wheelchair.
We are aware that there are other disabilities and in May as part of our 10 year birthday celebrations we will be spending time looking at issues when it comes to shopping centres for all people with a disability.
Come and visit us on Monday and take a turn in a wheelchair to find out what it is like being disabled.
