This book contains accounts of the voyages of three Elizabethan explorers  brought together in one volume and published in 1907. The account covers three voyages made by Hawkins between 1562 and 1568, three voyages made by Frobisher between 1576 and 1578 and Drakes famous voyage between 1577 and 1580 and Great Armada 1585 to 1586. The book contains episodes which are integral parts of British history. These adventurers were aiming to break the maritime power of the most formidable prince in Europe ( that of Spain). They wanted to throw open the New World to the English people and to this end they devoted their thoughts, their energies and their fortunes. They had to overcome perils of every description, the ice of the Arctic seas, the tornados and pestilences of the tropics, through battle and treachery worse than battle in order to pursue their cause. Hawkins and Drake died at sea in the West Indies and Frobisher died in France of battle wounds. The book has several contributors and the additional notes and maps have been contributed by C. Raymond Beazley.
